Wes Hamil

Wes Hamil is an Austin, Texas born, Los Angeles based Singer-Songwriter and Producer. His most current cowrite and co-produced single is for MotherWest Records Artist Kris Gruen, entitled "Just Listen". Wes recently co-wrote the Kendall Jane Meade single "I'd Like To Know Myself".

We cowrote and/or wrote numerous songs for the Memphis Royal Brothers project. The record was recorded at Royal Studios in Memphis, shepherded by Boo Mitchell. The lead single entitled "Brand New Heart"from the first MRB record was written by Wes and Grammy Award winning songwriting legend Paul Williams. Other standout tracks are "Ready To Rise " and "Goin South".

Wes is currently producing tracks on cowrites with Paul Williams, in addition to work co-writing and co-producing MotherWest artists Byland and Warren Dunes.

As a performer Wes has appeared with Lucinda Williams and Donovan, performing with his harmonica player wife, Victoria, who has worked with Robert Altman, Johnny Cash, and Townes Van Zandt. The duo has graced stages across the US, UK, Croatia, Holland and New Zealand .

New material from Wes as an artist, along with re-release of back catalog recordings, will be forthcoming soon. His song "The Ballad of Billy Saigon"appeared alongside Bruce Springsteen and Pete Seeger, on the Bear Family Records compilation Next Stop Is Vietnam curated by Country Joe McDonald. His song "Broken Angels" can be found in the Sony Pictures release Abel's Field.
